I'm taking her to the desert camping for the weekend, up in the high country where it is cooler and heaven is closer! Even in the desert there is life, and we will observe the wildness. I shall take her out in my ATV for the day exploring all the canyon. So few people have been here that few tracks remain visible to our eyes! The cool of the morning soon turns warm, and the sun on our backs feels good to us. Ocasionally a scorpion is visible on the trail and we avoid him easily! We have our water in a container in the little truck's back, shaded by a tarp. For lunch we stop, high above the canyon floor on a ledge overlooking a rocky stream far below. Our meal is back pack style, dried but very neutricious, good for we are hungry! We decide to come back here to this spot to camp this evening. We both have a good feeling about this place! We decide to explore more in the area umpack a large spotting scope, searching for interesting stuff. Soon we realize we aren't alone. Another couple are across the canyon to the south side. This is much fun because they have noticed us looking at them and are waving back. They hold up their fingers giving us numbers and we figure it is a celular number. I call and they answer wishing us a very fun evening and want to meet us back at the Roadhouse sunday afternoon. Only in a desert can you meet such nice friends we yell! |
